About formation of the Main state inspection on road transport
In pursuance of the Presidential decree of Ukraine of May 20, 2004 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decides N570 "About Measures for Strengthening of Safety of Passenger Traffic by Road Transport":
1. Form the Main state inspection on road transport as governmental body of public administration concerning control on road transport as a part of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
2. Approve Regulations on the Main state inspection on road transport it (is applied).
3. Place the Main state inspectorate on road transport for Prospekt Pobedy, 14, in Kiev.

1. The main state inspection on road transport (Glavavtotransinspektion) is governmental body of public administration concerning control on road transport which is effective as a part of Mintranssvyaz and submits to it.

Glavavtotransinspektion in the activities is guided by the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, and also the presidential decrees of Ukraine and resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted according to the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, this Provision and orders of Mintranssvyaz.
Glavavtotransinspektion:
organizes accomplishment of acts of the legislation within the powers and exercises control of their realization;
generalizes practice of application of the legislation on questions which belong to its competence, develops suggestions for improvement of the legislation and gives them in accordance with the established procedure for Mintranssvyaz consideration.
