About defense
This Law establishes bases of defense of the Republic of Belarus, power of the President of the Republic of Belarus and state bodies, the rights and obligations of the organizations and citizens of the Republic of Belarus on ensuring the armed protection of the Republic of Belarus.
In this Law the following main terms and determinations are applied:
defense of the Republic of Belarus (further - defense) - system of the legal, political, economic, military, social and other measures ensuring military safety of the Republic of Belarus;
the armed protection of the Republic of Belarus - the activities of the state directed to preserving and consolidation of sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and the constitutional system of the Republic of Belarus using the military force (instruments of war);

state of war - the relations between the Republic of Belarus and other state (other states) from the moment of the announcement other state (other states) of war to the Republic of Belarus, attacks on the Republic of Belarus from other state (other states) or the announcement the Republic of Belarus wars to other state (other states) before conclusion of peace between belligerent parties;
wartime - the period of the actual finding of the state in state of war;
