About depository activity and Central Securities Depository in the Republic of Belarus

This Law determines the legal basis of implementation of depository activity with securities in the Republic of Belarus, the rights, obligations and responsibility of her participants, powers and functions of the central depositary and depositaries.
In this Law the following terms and their determinations are used:
the bank statement of "depot" - the document issued by depositary to the depositor, reflecting the state of the account of "depot" for certain date and confirming the rights to securities;
the global certificate - the single document which is not security and drawn up by the issuer in case of the issue of securities performed in paperless form;
depositary - the legal entity of any form of business who is the professional participant of the security market and having the right to implementation of depository activity according to the legislation of the Republic of Belarus;
nonresident depositary - the foreign or international legal entity performing depository activity according to the legislation;
depository activity - rendering according to the legislation of services in accounting of the rights to securities, to storage of securities and (or) calculations for transactions with the securities which are on servicing in depositary;
