1. General provisions

1.1. This instruction is developed based on the laws and resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and also according to the international standards and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommended by practice stated in the annex N9 of the Chicago Convention.

1.2. For the purpose of approach of conditions of customs clearance of citizens to the commonly accepted international standards, simplifications of customs formalities, applications of the most effective control methods and ensuring interests of the state and society the two-channel system of examination of passengers, hand luggage and baggage is entered.

The state customs control is exercised selectively.

1.3. The two-channel system provides possibility of the choice by passengers of one of two following channels of "green" or "red" corridors.

Each channel has clear and accurate marking in order that passengers could distinguish them easily. The main distinctive marks are:

- for "green" corridor (channel) - green octagon and words "NECHEGO ZAYAVLYAT" ("NOTHING TO DECLAIRE");

- for "red" corridor (channel) - red square and the words "GOODS FOR the STATEMENT" (GOODS TO DECLAIRE").

Besides, channels are designated by the texts including the word "CUSTOMS" ("CUSTOMS").

Index texts about which it is told above are given in state language of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian, English or French languages.

1.4. Passengers shall be rather well informed correctly to choose corridors (channels) of following.

1.5. The terms applied in this instruction. "Green channel" - zone of passing by citizens of customs control without declaring, presentation of baggage, hand luggage, currency and values to customs examination.

"Red channel" - zone of passing by citizens of customs control with the objects which are subject to declaring.
