About tea growing

This Law establishes the legal basis of regulation of the organization of tea growing, production, processing and turnover of tea, and also ensuring the minimum quality and safety of tea products in the Azerbaijan Republic.

Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

1.0. The concepts used in this Law have the following values:

1.0.1. tea growing - the industry of the agricultural and food industry which is engaged in cultivation of tea plantations, cultivation of tea landing materials, production and conversion of leaves of green tea;

1.0.2. tea - the perennial evergreen subtropical plant used as tea drink, after conversion of its leaves, kidneys and gentle trunk;

1.0.3. tea landing materials - the saplings which are made multiple copies by vegetative and generative methods and used in case of cultivation, recovery and repair of tea plantations;

1.0.4. tea products - the long leaf, pressed, loose and concentrated tea grades prepared for the use by conversion of tea leaves;

1.0.5. the tea industry - the industry of the food industry which is performing preprocessing of tea leaves, making and packing up tea products from its leaves;

1.0.6. technical regulatory legal acts in the field of food safety - the technical regulatory legal acts determined by article 9 of the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic "About food safety".

Article 2. Legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic on tea growing

2.1. The legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic on tea growing consists of the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic "About food safety", the civil and agrarian legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic, and also of other regulatory legal acts adopted in connection with this Law.

2.2. If rules on production, turnover and the minimum quality and safety of the products of tea growing established in the interstate agreements recognized by the Azerbaijan Republic differ from the rules provided by this Law rules of international treaties are applied.
