Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan (AN of Uzbekistan) and National academy of Sciences of Belarus (NAS of Belarus), hereinafter referred to as "Parties",

attaching importance to development of traditional scientific ties,

in view of that the science by the nature is single, and many scientific problems were solved on the basis of general or joint programs, projects or bilateral agreements between scientific institutions of both academies,

aiming to keep and strengthen the existing cooperation in carrying out scientific research and preparation of scientific personnel,

for the purpose of ensuring further expansion of scientific cooperation signed this Agreement.

Article 1

The parties cooperate in the following major directions of the activities:

- basic and exploratory researches in the field of natural technical and the humanities;

- the solution of the scientific, scientific and technical and social and economic problems which are important for the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus;

- providing scientists and specialists of the Parties with necessary information for carrying out scientific research, including about the carried-out programs, scientific achievements and opening, the existing network of information banks and knowledge bases in the priority directions of science about archives, about the used relevant foreign networks, about specialized councils, scientific conferences and forums;

- examination of research works, scientific and technical products, reviewing of scientific articles, monographs;

- the publication of scientific works in scientific publications of the Parties;

- assistance in preparation and certification of scientific personnel, including through postgraduate study and doctoral studies, by training and posting of scientists, participation of the scientific Parties in work of specialized councils;

- organization and holding scientific conferences, symposiums and joint seminars;

- assistance to mutual use of the unique scientific equipment.
