This Law determines the bases and procedure for calling of persons who are looking for shelter refugees in the Republic of Tajikistan, establishes economic, social and legal guarantees of protection of the rights and the set interests of refugees determines legal status of the refugee.
The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on refugees is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and consists of this Law, other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan, and also the international legal acts recognized by Tajikistan.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
- the refugee - person who is not citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan and is in its territory owing to quite reasonable concerns to fall victim of prosecutions in the state of the civil accessory on the basis of race, religion, nationality, nationality, belonging to certain social group or political convictions and who cannot or does not wish owing to such concerns to use protection of this state or person who, without having certain nationality and being in the Republic of Tajikistan owing to similar circumstances cannot or does not wish will return to the state permanent the residence owing to such concerns;
