Chapter I. Determinations

Article 1

For the purposes of this Agreement:

a) GUAM means the Organization for democracy and economic development - GUAM;

b) "Charter" means Articles of organization for democracy and economic development - GUAM signed on May 23, 2006 in Kiev;

c) "state members" means the states which are the parties of the Charter and this agreement;

d) "Council" means Council of the Organization for democracy and economic development - GUAM;

e) "permanent representative" means person to who the sending state member assigns obligation to be effective as the head of its permanent mission in case of GUAM;

f) "the staff of permanent mission" means permanent representatives of state members in case of GUAM and members of personnel of permanent mission;

g) "members of delegation" means persons designated by state member, other state or the international organization for participation as their representatives in the work of body GUAM or conferences convoked GUAM or under its management;

h) "Secretariat" means the Secretariat GUAM;

i) "Secretary general" means the Secretary general GUAM;

j) "the staff of the Secretariat" or "personnel of the Secretariat" GUAM means the international officials and administrative and technical employees of the Secretariat;
