For the purpose of creation of necessary conditions for expansion of trade and economic relations on mutually advantageous basis, further development and strengthening good-neighbourhood and friendship between the Republic of Tajikistan and neighboring states the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan decides:

Approve enclosed Regulations on procedure of border trade in the Republic of Tajikistan.

Regulations on procedure of border trade in the Republic of Tajikistan

This Provision is developed according to article 16 of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "About state regulation of foreign trade activity" and determines legal and economic basis of creation of Items of border trade.

General provision

1. Items of border trade in the border regions of the Republic of Tajikistan are intended for expansion of trade and economic relations on mutually advantageous basis, further development and strengthening good-neighbourhood and the friendship between the Republic of Tajikistan and neighboring states based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and non-interference to internal affairs of each other.

2. The Item of border trade is the specially allocated site of the area in close proximity to frontier with complex of buildings, constructions with processing equipment in which trade between citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan and the adjacent state is performed.

The Item of border trade, as a rule is created near the official check point through frontier. Decisions on opening of Item of border trade around Item of the simplified omission through frontier is accepted in exceptional cases.
