I. Current status and problems of water transport

1. The inland water transport in the Republic of Moldova for the last two decades underwent number of restructurings. Armed conflict in the east of the country caused crisis in industry of water transport. Primary ports (The Bender river port, Rybnitsky river port) and significant amount of courts and watercrafts passed under jurisdiction of the Dnestr mode, and afterwards their most part was sold or handed over on scrap metal.
