About the state dactyloscopic registration
The state dactyloscopic registration in the Republic of Tajikistan is entered for the purpose of:
- identity certificates of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, the foreign citizens and persons without citizenship who are constantly living in the Republic of Tajikistan or looking for shelters;
- identifications of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, foreign citizens and stateless persons which for health reasons or on age cannot give information on the personality;
- search of missing citizens;

The state dactyloscopic registration is one of forms of the identity certificate of the person by means of information on the drawing of papillary pattern of fingers of hands, its systematization, storage and use for the purpose of determined by this Law.

In the cases provided by this Law it is carried out:
a) voluntary state dactyloscopic registration;
b) obligatory state dactyloscopic registration.
The state dactyloscopic registration is performed according to the principles of legality, humanity, respect of rights of man and citizen, confidentiality, voluntariness.
The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on the state dactyloscopic registration is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and consists of this Law, other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan, and also the international legal acts recognized by Tajikistan.
