This Law establishes the legal basis of standardization in the Republic of Tajikistan, managements, obligatory for all state bodies, and also the companies and entrepreneurs (further - business entities), other organizations and determines measures of the state protection of consumer interests and the state with use of methods and means of standardization.
Standardization is activities for setting standards, rules and characteristics (further - the requirement) for the purpose of providing:
safety of products, works and services for life, health and property, environmental protections;
requirements for compatibility and interchangeability of products;
product qualities, works and services to the functional purpose according to the level of development of science, the equipment and technologies, its konkurentospobnost in the world market; protection of interests and rights of consumers; defense capability and mobilization readiness of the state.
Subjects of standardization are products, the processes and services having perspective of repeated reproduction and use.
The relation in the field of standardization is governed by the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, this Law, other legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan, Presidential decrees of the Republic of Tajikistan, the orders of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, an also international legal acts recognized by the Republic of Tajikistan on the matter.
