About natural medical resources, medical and improving areas and resorts

This Law governs the relations arising in the field of studying, use, development and protection of natural medical resources, medical and improving areas and resorts in the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic.

Article 1. Basic concepts

1.0. In this Law the following concepts are used:

1.0.1. natural medical resources - suitable for treatment, prevention of diseases and the organization of rest mineral waters, therapeutic muds, medical oil of Naftalan, salty lakes, medical climate, beaches and so forth;

1.0.2. the medical and improving area - the natural territory having natural medical resources;

1.0.3. the resort - especially protected natural territory having natural medical resources in which medical and improving buildings, constructions and objects of tourist infrastructure are placed;

1.0.4. resort case - set of the types of scientific practical activities performed in the field of treatment, prevention of diseases and the organization of rest on the basis of use of natural medical resources;

1.0.5. sanatorium organizations - the organizations located in medical and improving areas and in the territory of resorts and rendering medical and improving services irrespective of form of their property and form of business (sanatoria, boarding houses, rest houses, sports the camp, etc.);

1.0.6. zone of sanitary protection - the territory with the mode of managing, accommodation, environmental management set by the legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic providing protection of natural medical resources, medical and improving areas, resorts and the sites adjoining to them against pollution and premature depletion;

1.0.7. resort fund of the Azerbaijan Republic - set of all types of the natural medical resources which are on the state accounting, medical and improving areas and resorts.
