Procedure for use of small size vessels in the Republic of Tajikistan

1. General provisions

1. This procedure regulates instructions for use small size vessels (including sailing) on inland waterways of the Republic of Tajikistan.

2. The local rules of swimming reflecting features of certain pools and their sites and also other regulatory legal acts published by the ministries, departments and the organizations regarding safety of swimming shall not contradict these rules.

3. Texts in courts (letter, registration numbers, and the name of the vessel) shall be put according to Rules of registration of river crafts in the Republic of Tajikistan, any other texts or drawings, including advertizing nature in courts are prohibited.

2. The basic concepts accepted in this procedure

- The small size vessel - the vessel which length is less than 7 m, and the rowing vessel irrespective of the size;

- The self propelled vessel - any vessel set in motion by mechanical installation;

- Dumb boat - the vessel which does not have mechanical draft for independent movement;

- The sailing ship - any vessel under sail including having the mechanical engine provided that the last is not used;

- Safe movement - maneuvering and stop of the vessel within the distance required by the developed circumstances;
