The Ministry of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of national defense of the Republic of Lithuania (further - the Parties),

aiming at strengthening of the bilateral relations between the states of the Parties,

for the purpose of development of cooperation between the Parties,

supporting the Partnership for Peace program,

being effective within the available powers,

agreed as follows:

Article 1 of the Purpose

The parties develop cooperation in military area according to rules of international law and the national legal system of the states of the Parties, following the principle of mutual advantage.

Article 2 Status of the Agreement

Provisions of this agreement do not contradict the national legal system of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Lithuania, and also international treaties which participants are one or both states of the Parties.

Article 3 of the Sphere of cooperation

1. The parties will perform cooperation in the following directions:

a) preparation of military personnel;

b) management of crisis situations and international peace support operations;

c) the organization of activities of armed forces in the following areas: completing, management and logistic support;

d) cooperation within the Partnership for Peace program;

e) other spheres which are of mutual interest.

2. The list of the directions of cooperation specified in this agreement can be added or reduced by agreement of the Parties.

3. For the purpose of realization of the directions of cooperation specified in Item 1 of this Article separate agreements can be signed.

Article 4 of Form of cooperation

The cooperation between the Parties will be implemented in the following forms:

a) joint actions within the Partnership for Peace program;

b) official visits and working meetings of official agents of the parties;

c) meetings of experts and experience exchange in the corresponding directions of cooperation;
