1.1. The existing condition
For more than hundred years of existence the Azerbaijani motion picture art passed rich way. The short chronicle plots devoted to oil Buck were the first samples testimonial of emergence of motion picture art in our country.
Being one of widespread art forms, the cinema plays irreplaceable role in promotion of national cultural wealth and in strengthening of consciousness of our people today. For this reason strengthening of production, technical and information base of cinematography, and also the organization of educational work in the field are component of policy of the Azerbaijani state in the field of culture.
Creation of the different genres movies which are accurately reflecting specifics of national cinematography underwent step-by-step development in our country. And though in the movies made in days of the Soviet power explicit falsification of some facts in view of ideological requirements of the period was allowed, the Azerbaijani motion picture art in general played important role in forming of esthetic taste and outlook of the audience, tried to meet cultural spiritual needs of our people and served case of preserving national spirit.
