Article 1. Prosecutor's office of Turkmenistan - supervision body behind execution of the laws

According to the Constitution supervision of exact and uniform observance in the territory of Turkmenistan of the laws, acts of the President, the Cabinet of Ministers by state bodies and control, military management, the local executive authority and local self-government, the companies, organizations, the organizations, associations of all types and patterns of ownership, persons who are engaged in business activity, public associations, officials and citizens is assigned to the Attorney-General of Turkmenistan and prosecutors subordinated to it.

Article 2. Purposes and directions of public prosecutor's activities

1. The purposes of supervision of execution of the laws is ensuring rule of law and strengthening of legality by protection:

social and economic, political and other rights and freedoms of citizens;

rights of public authorities and local self-government, companies, organizations, organizations, public associations;

rights of participants of production and economic and business activity.

The prosecutor's office exercises supervision:

behind execution of the laws by the bodies and persons specified in article 1 of this Law (general supervision);

behind execution of the laws by the bodies of homeland security and bodies performing fight against crime;

behind legality of court decrees;

behind execution of the laws in places of forced isolation of citizens.

2. In cases, stipulated by the legislation, the prosecutor's office investigates crimes, brings persons who made them to trial.

3. The prosecutor is involved in judicial review of cases.
