The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Latvia, the "Contracting parties" which further are referred to as,
in view of the aspiration to render each other development assistance of commercial, commercial and other ties,
being guided by desire to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of transport,
wishing to facilitate implementation of passenger and freight traffic between both countries, and also transit across their territories to the third countries,
agreed as follows:
Contracting parties, according to the legislation existing in both states and based on mutual interests, will take all necessary measures for rendering each other development assistance of transportations, railway, air and automobile communication, to creating favorable conditions of processing of straight lines and transit cargoes of Contracting Parties in sea and river ports and railway stations and their promotion for the territories of both states.
For the purpose of ensuring effective functioning of all modes of transport within this agreement and activation of trade and economic cooperation Contracting Parties will render each other necessary organizational, material, financial and other development assistance of transport infrastructure, in implementation of front lines, ecologically safe technologies in this area, will promote development of direct commercial ties between transport organizations of both states, to carrying out the corresponding scientific and technical researches and developments.
At the same time Contracting Parties guarantee encouragement and mutual protection of the capital investments performed for the purpose of implementation of this agreement.
