Article 1

For the purposes of this agreement the specified terms mean:

"authorized body of the Russian Side" - the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation;

"authorized body of the Uzbek Side" - the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

"polygon" - the equipped site of the territory (water area) of the Russian Federation with airspace over it intended for conducting exercises aviation and antiaircraft rocket (antiaircraft artillery) parts with fighting firing practice;

"the polygon equipment" - the command post of polygon with means of radar-location, communication and objective control, line item for placement of arms and military equipment and target complexes;

"arms and military equipment" - antiaircraft rocket (antiaircraft artillery) and radar complexes, automated control systems, polygon means of communication;

"targets" - the managed and uncontrollable aircraft, land targets applied on polygon as the real purposes when carrying out fighting firing practice;
