The Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties
in development of provisions of the Memorandum of cooperation in protection of frontiers of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and Ukraine of April 15, 1994,
based on the Treaty of friendship, neighborliness and cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus of February 21, 1995,
recognizing need of common efforts for protection of Frontier of the Republic of Belarus,
agreed as follows:
For the purposes of this Agreement the term "Frontier of the Republic of Belarus" means - Frontier of the Republic of Belarus with the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Poland.
Protection of Frontier of the Republic of Belarus is performed by Border troops of the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with Border troops of the Russian Federation.
The parties will take measures to rapprochement of the legal and other regulations regulating protection of their Frontiers and procedure for their crossing.
The parties in 2-month time from the date of the signature of this agreement will exchange the legal and other regulations concerning boundary questions.
The subsequent exchange of drafts of legal and other regulations on the questions stated above will be performed before their introduction for consideration in accordance with the established procedure.
For coordination of common efforts of Border troops of the Russian Federation and Border troops of the Republic of Belarus in protection of Frontier of the Republic of Belarus and realization of the approved boundary policy of the Party create Coordination council.
The coordination council performs the activities on the basis of Regulations on it (appendix N 1).
