The Ministry of Health and the Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

recognizing need of interaction and cooperation in case of threat of spread of osoboopasny infections,

being guided by provisions of the Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation in the field of medicine and the health care made 27 Baydak (February), 1997 in Almaty

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties shall develop and expand cooperation in the following specific directions of ensuring sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population:

- sanitary protection of the territories;

- observance of the international medical and sanitary rules;

- in the field of epidemiology and epizootology on zooantroponozny diseases;

- ensuring sanitary and epidemiological surveillance in priaralsky zone;

- sanitary protection of the Caspian Sea;

- sanitation regulation and sanitary legislation;

- immunoprevention, laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases and laboratory control of the habitat of the person;

- control of use of medical immunobiological supplies;

- control of quality and safety of food staples, foodstuff, materials and products;

- preparation and advanced training of medical, scientific and pedagogical personnel of sanitary and epidemiologic service;

- development of hygienic and epidemiological science.
