being guided by Article 3 of the Safeguards agreement of the rights of citizens of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of provision of pensions of March 13, 1992,

proceeding from need of settlement in the field of provision of pensions of citizens of both states working in the region of the Far North and in the areas equated to the region of the Far North

agreed as follows:

Article 1

1. The citizens of the Parties who worked at least 15 calendar years in the region of the Far North or in the areas equated to the region of the Far North irrespective of the place of their permanent residence in the territory of both states have at least 20 calendar years pension entitlement on old age (on age):

men - on reaching 55 years and in case of general length of service at least 25 years,

women - on reaching 50 years and in case of general length of service at least 20 years.

2. To the citizens of the Parties working both in the region of the Far North, and in the areas equated to the region of the Far North, one year of work in the areas equated to the region of the Far North is set off in nine months of work in the region of the Far North.

3. If the legislation of one of the Parties provides more preferential terms and regulations of provision of pensions of the citizens working in the region of the Far North and in the areas equated to the region of the Far North, in case of award of pension on old age (on age) in the territory of this state the current legislation of this Party is applied.

Article 2

In case of determination of pension entitlement according to article 1 of this Interim Agreement the List of the region of the Far North and areas equated to the region of the Far North existing till January 1, 1992 is applied.
