Agreement between Prosecutor's office of the Republic of Armenia and Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation on legal assistance and cooperation

The prosecutor's office of the Republic of Armenia and prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties

- based on the universally recognized norms of international law,

- attaching importance to development of interaction in ensuring reliable protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens, legal entities,

- proceeding from the principles of sovereignty and equality of the states, their mutual aspiration to expand on the basis of mutual understanding and benefit cooperation between bodies of prosecutor's office,

reached the agreement on the following:

Article 1

The parties within the powers shall give each other help:

- in transfer of materials of public prosecutor's and investigative activities, including archive materials;

- in initiation of legal proceedings and investigation of crimes;

- in accomplishment of separate legal proceedings;

- in accomplishment of the supervising functions connected with investigation of crimes;

- in assistance in search of persons who committed crimes, missing persons and also in convoy of arrested and convicts;

- in assistance in issue of persons who committed crimes;

- in consideration of questions of rehabilitation illegally convicts and repressed persons;

- on other questions of public prosecutor's activities.

Article 2

Help is not given if it contradicts the legislation of the required Party.

Article 3

When rendering the Party to legal assistance communicate with each other through the central bodies if interstate agreements do not establish other procedure.

Article 4

The petition for rendering legal assistance shall be drawn up in writing and contain the following data:

- name of prosecutor's offices of the Parties;

- information necessary for its execution;
