About ensuring unity of measurements

This Law establishes the legal basis of ensuring unity of measurements in the Azerbaijan Republic, governs the relations in the field of development, production, checking, testing, operation, repair, sale, import and export of measuring instruments.

Article 1. Basic concepts

1.0. In this Law of concept are used in the following value:

1.0.1. Unity of measurements - such condition of measurements in case of which their results are expressed in the accepted units and error of measurements are in the established borders;

1.0.2. Metrological service - subjects of activities and work types, aimed at providing unity of measurements;

1.0.3. Measuring instruments - the technical means used in case of measurements and having the normalized metrological characteristics;

1.0.4. Size unit standard - the gage which is specially made and approved by relevant organ of the executive authority intended for storage of size of measurement and providing transfer of this size to other gages;

1.0.5. The state standard of unit of size - the initial standard accepted as size unit in the Azerbaijan Republic;

1.0.6. Regulating documents on ensuring unity of measurements (metrological rules and regulations) - the state standards approved by relevant organ of the executive authority, rules, recommendations, instructions, and also interstate and international standards applied in the procedure conforming to the legislation;

1.0.7. Metrological control - the activities performed by relevant organ of the executive authority or metrological services of legal entities for the purpose of check of observance identified metrological rules and regulations;
