About use and protection of emblems of the Red Cross and Red Crescent

The international obligations of the Republic of Armenia in the field of use and protection of emblems of the Red Cross and Red Crescent follow from the Geneva conventions "About Improvement of Fate of Wounded and Patients in Field Armies", "About Improvement of Fate of Wounded, Patients and Persons, Castaway, from Structure of Armed Forces at the Sea", "About the Treatment of Prisoners of War", "About Protection of the Civilian Population during War" of August 12, 1949 (further - conventions), the Additional protocol "About Protection of the Victims of the International Armed Conflicts" of June 8, 1977 (further - the Protocol I) and the Additional protocol "About Protection of the Victims of Armed Conflicts of Not International Nature" of June 8, 1977 (further - the Protocol II) to the specified conventions, and also accepted in 1965 by the XX International conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent of the rules "About Use by National Societies of Emblems of the Red Cross and Red Crescent" with changes and amendments of 1991 (further - rules of use of emblems).
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
