About social protection of displaced persons and persons equated to them
This Law determines measures for resettlement, social protection of displaced persons and persons equated to them in the Azerbaijan Republic and the tasks of state bodies connected with it.
Persons forced to leave places of permanent residence in the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic, to move to other places within the country as a result of foreign military aggression, occupation of certain territories or regular firing are considered as the displaced persons falling under purpose of this Law.
Persons who left as a result of the ethnic cleaning which is carried out in the Republic of Armenia and other states the places of permanent residence which arrived to the Azerbaijan Republic and did not lodge constantly are equated to displaced persons.
This Law extends to the persons who became displaced persons since January 1, 1988 on effective date of this Law in force and arrived to the Azerbaijan Republic for the reason provided in part two of article 2 of this Law.
The measures of social protection provided by this Law remain in force within three years after emergence of conditions for return of the displaced persons to places of former accommodation, and for return equated to displaced persons of persons to places of former accommodation - before emergence of conditions for this purpose or for their permanent resettlement.
Acquisition by persons equated to displaced persons according to the housing legislation or civil legal instruments of separate living space is considered their permanent resettlement.
The following measures of social protection are applied to displaced persons and persons equated to them ("displaced persons" hereinafter are referred to as further):
providing with temporary living space;
employment;
