About fertility of lands
This Law establishes the legal basis of recovery, increase and protection of fertility of the lands which are in the Azerbaijan Republic in the state-owned, municipal and private property.
The concepts used in this Law express the following values:
fertility of lands - capability of the earth is regular to provide plants with nutritious elements, inventories of moisture and others the substances, vital for them, in favorable morphological, physical and chemical, mechanical and biological conditions;
ensuring fertility of lands - system of the legal, economic and organizational measures performed in the field of recovery, increase and protection of fertility of lands;
recovery of fertility of lands - system of the agrotechnical, meliorative, phytosanitary, antierosion and other complex measures performed for the purpose of improvement of fertility of lands, lost owing to harmful effects of natural and anthropogenous processes;
increase in fertility of lands - system of the agrotechnical, agrochemical, meliorative, phytosanitary, antierosion and other complex measures which are carried out to areas of increase in fertility of lands which natural fertility decreased owing to the wrong cultivation;
protection of fertility of lands - system of the agrotechnical, agrochemical, meliorative, phytosanitary, antierosion and other complex measures directed to protection of the lands which are in economic circulation and also lands which fertility is recovered and improved;
pollution of lands - process of accumulating in lands of chemical compounds of different origin, heavy metals, radioactive elements, waste, pathogenic and other harmful organisms in quantity which can make harmful effects on human health, the environment and properties of fertility of the earth;
sowing grounds - agricultural holdings which are provided for crops according to purpose and legal regime of lands.
