This Law regulates immigration to the Azerbaijan Republic of foreigners or persons without citizenship and the relations connected with it.
Immigration to the Azerbaijan Republic is regulated by the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, international treaties supported by the Azerbaijan Republic, this Law and other legal acts of the Azerbaijan Republic.
The concepts used in this Law have the following values:
Immigration - entry of foreigners or stateless persons into the Azerbaijan Republic on permanent residence in the procedure provided by this Law;
Immigrants are the foreigners or persons without citizenship who got permission to permanent residence in the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic;
The capable foreigners and stateless persons which reached 18 years and on legal causes at least two years which are temporarily living in the Azerbaijan Republic, can submit the petition to relevant organ of the executive authority for permanent residence in the Azerbaijan Republic (for receipt of the status of the immigrant). The petition shall be submitted not later than 3 months before the expiration of permission to temporary residence of person in the Azerbaijan Republic.
In the petitions foreigners or stateless persons shall prove the immigration to the Azerbaijan Republic.
