The State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of the tax income of Georgia which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

noting that illegal export, transit and import of cultural values cause damage to cultural property of the people which protection shall be promoted by customs authorities,

in view of regulations of the Convention of UNESCO on the measures directed to prohibition and the prevention of illegal import, export and transfer of property to cultural values of 1970

noting important role of competent services of the states in protection of cultural heritage,

aiming to strengthen cooperation between these services and by that to strengthen fight against illegal export and import of cultural values,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

For the purposes of this agreement the following terms mean:

a) "cultural values" means the objects determined according to the legislation of the states of the Parties;

b) "illicit movement of cultural values" means export, transit and import of such values which are made in defiance of this agreement, the laws and other regulations of the states of the Parties;

c) "return of cultural values" is meant by the actual transfer of export to the state by the state of import or transit of the cultural values detained in connection with their illicit movement.

Article 2

The parties on condition of the compliance with laws and rules existing in their states will cooperate within this agreement for the purpose of detention illegally of the moved cultural values and their transfer.

Article 3

The party which found illegally the moved cultural values will detain such cultural values and in perhaps short time to inform on it other Party.
