About labor migration
This Law establishes legal, economic and social basis of processes of labor migration in the Azerbaijan Republic, governs the relations arising in the field of labor migration.
In this Law the following concepts are used:
labor migration - change of the residence by physical persons for occupation labor activity;
internal labor migration - change of the residence by physical persons in the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic for occupation labor activity;
the toiler migrant - the physical person migrating on legal causes from one country in another for occupation paid labor activity;
members of the family of the toiler migrant - the wives (husband) of the toiler migrant, his children who did not reach 18-year age, and being in its dependence parents;
border labor migration - departure of persons who are constantly living in border settlements, during the day on the territory of the adjacent state for occupation labor activity;
quota for labor migration - limit of number of foreigners and stateless persons (further - "foreigners") to which stay within year in the Azerbaijan Republic for implementation of labor activity is allowed.
The legislation on labor migration consists of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Labor code of the Azerbaijan Republic, this Law, other relevant legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic and interstate agreements supported by the Azerbaijan Republic.
This Law does not extend to persons:
constantly living in the country where work;
engaged in business activity;
