Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Bases of the electoral system

According to the Constitution of Turkmenistan elections of members by Gengesha, being representative bodies of public authority in the territory of the cities in etraps (further - the city), settlements and gengeshliks, are performed by citizens of Turkmenistan on alternative basis from among at least than two candidates in each district, on the basis of general, equal and direct suffrage in case of secret vote.
