About protection and promotion of breastfeeding and requirements to products of baby food
This Law determines the main directions of state policy in the field of health protection of children by means of support, protection and promotion of breastfeeding and regulates questions of providing them with good and safe nutrition, sales of products of baby food.
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
the baby - the child aged till 1 year;
the child of early age - the child aged from 1 year up to 3 years;
breastfeeding - feeding by maternal milk of babies and children of early age;
breastfeeding - feeding only by maternal milk of children up to 6 months (is exclusive in case of exception of diet of water, tea and other liquids);
substitutes of maternal milk - the foodstuff in liquid or powdery form made on the basis of cow's milk or milk of other farm animals, proteins of soy and held for use as substitutes of maternal milk and as close as possible to it on chemical composition and nutrition value for satisfaction of physiological needs of children of early age;
food for children of chest and early age (baby food) – the foodstuff intended for food of children since birth to age of 3 years which structure and properties shall correspond to their age physiological features provide effective comprehensibility and not do harm to health of the child;
products of artificial nutrition for children:
- food formula No. 1, made in industrial conditions according to the state or interstate, or international regulating documents and intended for requirements satisfaction in food of babies aged up to 6 months;
