About application of part (3) article 76 of the Code about elections No. 1381-XIII of November 21, 1997

Based on Item c) of article 66 of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova the Parliament adopts this organic law.

In case of the early parliamentary elections organized owing to dissolution of Parliament according to part (5) article 78 of the Constitution because of not election of the President of the Republic of Moldova, part (3) article 76 of the Code about elections No. 1381-XIII of November 21, 1997, providing that early elections are held not later than in 45-day time from the date of entry into force of the presidential decree of the Republic of Moldova about dissolution of Parliament and setting a date of early elections, it is applied as follows:

1. The terms of the organization and holding the regular general parliamentary elections provided by the Code about elections are reduced in proportion, taking into account the 60-day term established in part (2) Article 76 for the organization of these elections, concerning period of time of day of entry into force of the presidential decree of the Republic of Moldova about dissolution of Parliament and setting a date of early elections and before the date of elections established by the same decree. The coefficient of pro rata reducing terms is established by division of number "60" on the number of days of day of entry into force of the decree till the election day.

2. The Central Election Commission applies the coefficient specified in Item 1, for the purpose of reducing terms of implementation of the measures provided by the Schedule for implementation of procedures on holding the early elections established by the Code about elections since day of entry into force of the presidential decree of the Republic of Moldova and till the election day.
