Statute of award of the Azerbaijan Republic "Independence"

1. The Azerbaijan Republic "Independence" citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic are awarded the order:

for exclusive merits in national liberation movement in the Azerbaijan Republic;

for especially outstanding merits before the state and the people of the Azerbaijan Republic;

for special merits in work on national-state construction of the Azerbaijan Republic.

2. The medal "Independence" is worn on the left side of breast and in the presence of other awards and medals of the Azerbaijan Republic is located before them.

The award "Independence" consists of two eight-pointed stars imposed at each other, one of which is developed around axis, with smooth double beams.

In the center of the upper star there is roundish plate covered with blue enamel. On plate the bird with the opened wings is represented, and between wings the above-stated eight-pointed star is represented.
