The Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine, hereinafter referred to as "Contracting parties",

for the purpose of further development of friendship between two states in the spirit of respect of sovereignty, national independence and equality according to the universally recognized norms of international law,

on the basis of the voluntary choice of nationality by interested persons, and also prevention of emergence of double citizenship in the future,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

Each of Contracting Parties based on provisions of this agreement and the laws of the State Parties of the Agreement recognizes for the citizen belonging to nationality only one of Contracting Parties.

Article 2

1. After entry into force of this Agreement each of Contracting Parties will not accept in nationality of persons who have nationality of other Contracting Party.

2. Persons mentioned in Item 1 of this Article can address one of Contracting Parties for acquisition of nationality under condition if they prove that they are not citizens of other Contracting Party or in the procedure established by legislations of Contracting Parties will leave nationality of one of Contracting Parties.

Article 3

1. The full age persons who are constantly living in the territory of one of Contracting Parties which each of Contracting Parties, according to the legislation, recognizes as the citizens on the date of entry into force of this Agreement shall choose nationality of one of Contracting Parties by means of filing of application about the choice of nationality on the conditions provided by this Agreement. Statements for the nationality choice, move within 18 months from the effective date of this Agreement.

2. For the purposes of this agreement, persons who according to the current legislation of each of Contracting parties reached age of majority are considered as full age persons.
