About bodies and divisions for emergency situations of the Republic of Belarus

This Law determines legal and organizational basis of activities of bodies and divisions for emergency situations of the Republic of Belarus (further if other is not provided, – bodies and divisions for emergency situations), establishes obligations and the rights of bodies and divisions for emergency situations and their employees, guarantee of legal and social protection of employees of bodies and divisions on emergency situations and members of their families.
Bodies and divisions on emergency situations treat paramilitary organizations and are component of system of ensuring national security of the Republic of Belarus.
Bodies and divisions on emergency situations perform activities in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations of natural and technogenic nature (further – emergency situations), civil defense and ensuring fire safety, and also other activities according to this Law, other laws and decisions of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
The main objectives of bodies and divisions for emergency situations are:
organization of events on liquidations of emergency situations and participation in liquidation of emergency situations;
participation in realization of state policy in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, civil defense and ensuring fire safety;
organization and participation in limits of the competence of ensuring functioning of the state systems of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, civil defense and fire safety, monitoring system and forecasting of emergency situations;
