About veterans
This Law fixes according to the principles adopted at the 46th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 3, 1992, the status of veterans of war, work, armed forces, law-enforcement bodies, the border service, state security and foreign intelligence, basis of state policy of the Azerbaijan Republic concerning veterans. The law regulates the group of people, veterans using privileges, and also field of activity of the veteran organizations, establishes guarantees of active participation of veterans in all spheres of life of society depending on their physical capacities.
State policy concerning veterans is based on the basis of the following principles:
ensuring social and legal security;
secured provision at the level of not lower than minimum wage;
creation of conditions for maintenance of physical and mental health, active longevity;
provision of housing;
provision to each veteran of social services which types and quality provide satisfaction of compelling needs;
implementation of right to work without any limit depending on the state of health, creation of necessary conditions for participation in socially useful activities;
assistance of activities of the veteran organizations, involvement of veterans to direct participation in forming and the realization of policy and programs concerning all society and in particular veterans.
The legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic on veterans consists of this Law and other legal acts of the Azerbaijan Republic establishing the rights and privileges to veterans in social, transport servicing, delivery of health care and other spheres.
