The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Moldova which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

considering global nature of environmental problems and understanding the responsibility for preserving and improvement of the environment,

aiming at cooperation increase in the field of environmental protection,

realizing value of protection and environmental improvement for present and future generations,

in view of the experience accumulated in the field of the international nature protection cooperation

based on provisions of international treaties in the field of environmental protection which participants are both states,

recognizing that realization of the principles of sustainable development proclaimed at conference of the UN "Environment and development" in Rio De Janeiro in 1992 and confirmed with the Johannesburg declaration on sustainable development of September 4, 2002 requires responsible attitude to environmental management,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will cooperate in the field of environmental protection on the basis of equality and mutual advantage, being guided by the purposes and the principles of sustainable development, according to national legal systems and international treaties of the states of the Parties.

Article 2

The cooperation will be performed in the following directions:

use of economic methods in environmental management;

methodical approaches in the organization and evaluating impact on the environment;

conducting environmental assessment;

regulation, standardization, metrology and certification in the field of environmental protection;

carrying out environmental monitoring;

protection of atmospheric air;

protection of surface and underground water;

protection of lands;
