based on regulations of the Contract between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in military area of May 25, 1993:

proceeding from the friendship established between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan

being guided by mutual aspiration to further development of full cooperation,

for the purpose of assistance in strengthening of defense capability of the Republic of Tajikistan,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The Russian side sends at the request of the Tajik Side to the Republic of Tajikistan the Russian military advisers and specialists.

The number of the sent military advisers and specialists, regular categories, terms and conditions of their stay, and also payment procedure are determined by the relevant contracts signed between the Ministries of Defence of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.

Article 2

The Russian military advisers and specialists will give practical help to command of Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan in the organization of combat training and field training of troops and headquarters, enhancement of organizational structure of troops and managements of them, development of operational and mobilization documents, preparation of national military personnel and other questions of construction and strengthening of Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Russian military advisers and specialists do not accept direct participation in fighting.
