Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Subject of regulation of this Law

This Law governs the legal and financial and economic relations arising in connection with delivery, permanent storage, the statistical recording, creation of the bibliography of all types of editions, electronic publications of documents (further - documents) and unpublished materials and public use of national heritage.

Article 2. Legislation on obligatory copy

The legislation of the Republic of Armenia on obligatory copy consists of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, this Law, other laws and regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Armenia regulating the sphere, international treaties of the Republic of Armenia.

If international treaties of the Republic of Armenia establish other regulations, than those which are provided by this Law then are applied regulations of international treaties.

Article 3. The basic concepts used in this Law

The basic concepts used in this Law:

the document - containing information text, graphic, video and (or) audio-and other material carrier which is subject to transfer in time and space for the purpose of its storage and public use;

copy - the sample of the made document identical to the original;

obligatory copy of documents (further - obligatory copy) - the copies of the different types published, published, issued, made (further - made) documents, provided by manufacturers to receivers of documents according to the procedure and the quantity established by this Law;

the obligatory complimentary copy - the obligatory copies provided by manufacturers gratuitously;
