About the state environmental assessment

This Law governs the relations in the field of conducting the state environmental assessment and is aimed at providing ecological safety in case of implementation of the project decisions provided by project or other documentation on the planned economic and other activity.
For the purposes of this Law the following main terms and their determinations are used:
impact on the environment - any direct or indirect impact on the environment of economic and other activity which effects are changes of the environment;
the state environmental assessment - establishment of compliance or discrepancy of project or other documentation on the planned economic and other activity (further - project or other documentation) to requirements of the legislation on environmental protection and rational use of natural resources;
customers - state bodies, legal entities of the Republic of Belarus, the foreign and international legal entities, the organizations who are not legal entities (further - legal entities), the individual entrepreneurs planning implementation of economic and other activity in the territory of the Republic of Belarus;
the conclusion of the state environmental assessment - the document containing data on results of conducting the state environmental assessment;
the mentioned party - foreign state on which environment cross-border impact of the economic and other activity planned for the territories of the Republic of Belarus can be made;
