This Law is directed to determination of the purposes, the principles and the main directions of the state youth policy as important element of state policy in the field of social, economic and cultural development of the Republic of Belarus.
For the purposes of this Law the following main terms and their determinations are applied:
the state youth policy – system of the social, economic, political, organizational, legal and other measures directed to support of young citizens (further if other is not determined by this Law, – youth) and performed by the state for the purpose of social formation and development of youth, the most complete realization of its potential for the benefit of all society;
young family – family in which both or one of spouses (the parent in incomplete family) are in age up to thirty one years;
youth personnel policy – the activities of republican state bodies, local executive and administrative organs, other state bodies, and also republican youth public associations for ensuring functioning of system of support and office promotion of the working young citizens directed to increase in their professional competence and motivation, attraction to the solution of urgent and perspective tasks of social and economic development of the country;
youth initiatives – the actions and projects directed to realization of the state youth policy, offered for realization by subjects of youth initiatives;
young citizens are the citizens of the Republic of Belarus, foreign citizens and persons without citizenship who are constantly living in the Republic of Belarus aged from fourteen up to thirty one years;
