About the state guarantees of the equal rights and equal opportunities of men and women
This Law governs the public relations in the field of providing the state guarantees of the equal rights and equal opportunities of men and women and establishes the basic principles and regulations concerning creation of conditions for gender equality in all spheres of the state and public life.
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
1) gender - social aspect of the relations between men and women which is shown in all spheres of life;
2) gender equality - the legal status providing to men and women the equal rights and equal opportunities and real access to participation in political, economic, social, public and cultural spheres of life regardless of sex;
3) discrimination on the basis of floor - any restriction or infringement of human rights and freedoms, and also belittling of its advantage on basis of sex;
4) the equal rights - the right of implementation of civil, political, economic, social, cultural and other laws, equal for men and women, guaranteed by the state, enshrined in the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
5) equal opportunities - system of the means and conditions necessary for real achievement of equal rights;
6) reproductive health - the health of the person reflecting its capability to reproduction of full-fledged posterity.
1. The legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the state guarantees of the equal rights and equal opportunities of men and women is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, consists of this Law and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. If the international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan establish other rules, than those which contain in this Law then are applied rules of the international treaty.
