The purpose of adoption of law on property is providing before systematization of the civil legislation of the republic of creation of the legal basis of forming and development of the market relations, strengthenings of economic system and the relations of property and development of its different forms.
This law establishes basic provisions and the principles of legal regulation of the relations of property which act on the territory of the Republic of Armenia before adoption of the new Civil code.
The relations of property and competence of owners which are not settled by the law are regulated by the existing Civil code of the republic and published according to this law others legislative and bylaws.
Features of implementation of the property right to historical and cultural monuments, and also the relations on creation and use of inventions, opening, works of science, literature, art and other intellectual property items are regulated by the special legislation of the Republic of Armenia.
In the Republic of Armenia the property right is recognized and remains the law.
The owner at discretion owns, uses and disposes of the property belonging to him.
The owner has the right to make any actions which are not contradicting the law concerning the property.
He can use property for implementation of any economic or other activity which is not prohibited by the law.
In cases, on conditions and in the limits provided by the law the obligation can be assigned to the owner to allow limited use of its property of other persons.
