In the Republic of Armenia permanent reference tribunals and reference tribunals for permission of specific dispute (ad hoc) are created.
1. Permanent reference tribunals can be created under the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the exchanges, the organizations performing the public biddings, the unions of commercial banks of the Republic of Armenia and other organizations.
2. The procedure for activities of permanent reference tribunal is established by the charter (provision) approved by the organization which created such court.
In the charter shall be specified:
1) list of arbitration judges;
2) procedure for formation of reference tribunal;
3) procedure for permission of rejection and removal of the judge of reference tribunal;
4) procedure for the dispute resolution;
5) payment procedure of arbitration charges.
The reference tribunal for permission of specific dispute is created by the parties.
Activities of reference tribunals are based on the principles of legality, independence of judges, equalities of citizens, legal entities before the law and court, competitiveness and equality of participants.
