The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of prevention of mikronutriyentny insufficiency among the population.
The legislation on prevention of mikronutriyentny insufficiency among the population consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about prevention of mikronutriyentny insufficiency among the population then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
micronutrients - irreplaceable feedstuffs (vitamins and mineral substances), necessary for the normal growth and development of human body;
mikronutriyentny insufficiency - the human body condition caused by insufficient intake of micronutrients with food, leading to development of diseases;
the enriched food products - the food products enriched (fortifitsirovanny) with micronutrients in the course of its production;
saplementation of micronutrients - use of micronutrients in preventive doses in the form of medicines among target groups of the population;
target groups of the population - national groups concerning which measures of prevention of mikronutriyentny insufficiency are performed.
