About strengthening of protection of property of editorial offices of mass media, publishing houses, bookstores, companies of book trading, the creative unions

This Law is directed to prevention of abuse and the prevention of violations in case of alienation of real estate, eviction of editorial offices of mass media, typographies, publishing houses, bookstores, companies of book trading, the creative unions from rooms which they use for implementation of the activities.

As the component of the legislation of Ukraine on the state support of mass media, development of domestic publishing case, protection of the creative unions this Law strengthens system of legal regulation in the information and cultural sphere.

Article 1. Prohibit alienation of rooms in which there are editorial offices of mass media, typographies, publishing houses, bookstores, the companies of book trading which founders are public authorities, local self-government, consolidation of citizens, the state research establishments, educational institutions, labor collectives, and also the creative unions.

For the purposes of this Law alienation of rooms is understood as the conclusion and agreement performance of purchase and sale, pledge, mortgage, their entering into the authorized capital (funds) of subjects of managing, other civil acts which provide transition of the property right or use to other legal entities and physical persons, and also sale of property during proceeedings about bankruptcy.

This law does not extend to property of editorial offices of the printing mass media founded by public authorities, other state bodies and local government bodies.
