About rendering psychological assistance

This Law is directed to determination of legal and organizational basis of rendering psychological assistance for the purpose of providing the rights and legitimate interests of citizens in case of its obtaining.
For the purposes of this Law the following main terms and their determinations are used:
psychological assistance – the actions performed by the psychologist and directed to assistance to the citizen in the prevention, permission, overcoming psychological problems, crisis situations and their effects, preserving mental health, optimization of psychological development, social adaptation and rehabilitation, self-development, self-realization and improvement of quality of life of the citizen;
psychological problem – experience by the citizen of violations of its life activity and impossibility of their independent overcoming, experience of difficulties in maintenance of mental health, optimization of psychological development, social adaptation and rehabilitation, self-development, self-realization;
crisis situation – the circumstances leading to emergence of psychological problems with which the citizen cannot cope by methods, usual for it;
crisis intervention – immediate rendering psychological assistance in crisis situations, and also for overcoming their effects.
The relations in the field of rendering psychological assistance are governed by the legislation in the field of rendering psychological assistance, and also international treaties of the Republic of Belarus.
The legislation in the field of rendering psychological assistance is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus and consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
