About donorship of blood and its components
The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of donorship of blood and its components.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
the donor - the physical person which is voluntarily providing part of the blood and its components for medical needs;
bank of donor blood - the inventories of components of donor blood of long-term storage created and updated by service of blood;
medicines of donor blood - the remedies received in case of conversion of components of donor blood;
components of donor blood - blood components in the form of plasma and blood cells.
The legislation on donorship of blood and its components consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation. If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about donorship of blood and its components then are applied rules of the international treaty.
The basic principles of donorship of blood and its components are:
voluntariness of blood donation and its components;
harmlessness for the person of blood donation and its components;
safety of use of donor blood and its components.
Blood donation and its components for medical needs is performed by the donor on voluntary basis. Any compulsion of person is not allowed to blood donation and its components.
