About guarantees of the rights of the child
This Law is directed to realization of the basic principles of policy of the President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Turkmenbasha in the field of human rights and determines legal status of the child as independent subject, establishes guarantees of its rights and legitimate interests, and also forming of his civil consciousness on the basis of national and universal values provides physical and spiritual development of the child.
The child person before achievement of age of 18 years by him is recognized if other is not established by the law of Turkmenistan.
The legislation of Turkmenistan on the rights of the child is based on the Constitution of Turkmenistan, this Law, other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan, international treaties of Turkmenistan and the relevant provisions of international law.
1. All children living in the territory of Turkmenistan have the equal rights, irrespective of nationality, race, sex, language, religion, social origin, property or other status, education and the residence of their and their parents or other legal representatives of the child, from circumstances of their birth, the state of health or other circumstances.
2. The child has the right to have all rights and freedoms granted to it. Realization of the rights and freedoms shall not have harmful effects for life, health, education and full development of the child.
3. The equal rights of the child are provided with the laws and other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan, the conventional principles and rules of international law.
